    DURATION: 1.5 - 2 HOURS

Vancouver’s Mt. Pleasant neighbourhood has one of the densest concentrations of street art and murals in the world. DeTours will guide you through the alleys and backstreets of this eclectic neighborhood, taking in the varied styles of stunning public art pieces: figurative, abstract, surrealism, graffiti, and beyond. This area is a true testament to the diversity of public art in Vancouver. We will also be using the artwork to explore both historic and ongoing processes within the city, as well as revealing some of the inner workings of one of the largest public art festivals in North America. Strathcona Street Art and Mural Tour

    START TIME: 11 AM

    DURATION: 1.5 - 2 HOURS

After a successful run at the 2022 Vancouver Mural Festival, we are bringing this tour back in a special limited capacity for 2023. This is where it all started in Vancouver: an old and continuously busy industrial port neighbourhood that housed artist spaces for years. See the birth of the Vancouver mural scene, with a heavy emphasis on the roots and ties to the local graffiti scene. There are a high concentration of large murals in this less-travelled area of town, and you will be seeing a part of Vancouver that few tourists or even locals do. Learn about the history of this old industrial neighbourhood and how it is constantly changing, creating new challenges and opportunities for artists, residents and businesses alike.
